Patient's Charter for Tuberculosis Care - Rights and Responsibilities

You are kindly invited to an event on 23rd March 2011, 5:30pm at Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu to talk about Patient's Right. The event is initiated and led by people with TB and TB/HIV to mark the Patient's Charter for Tuberculosis Care - Rights and Responsibilities, and pay tribute to people died with TB.

Why the event is important - TB is regarded one of the public health problems in Nepal. Estimate shows that everyday 14 to 19 Nepalese die with TB, 5000-7000 lives annually.

The event plan: Around 500 people including People with TB and TB/HIV, their families and volunteers will be gathered at the venue. 7,000 candles will be lighted to pay tribute to people died with TB. Likewise, people with TB and TB/HIV will readout the Patient's Charter (Rights and Responsibilities). The event is supported by Health Research and Social Development Forum (HERD)– a Nepali NGO, in collaboration with National Tuberculosis Centre, Nepal.
