Strategy
We define strategy as purposeful process of translation of thoughts into action and of navigation. With this understanding we have tried translating organizational ideas into structured thoughts to plan effective implementation of activities to achieve the aims of the organization. HERD has set the following strategies:
- Work to gain a comprehensive understanding of issues related to health and social sectors and explore possible interventions through scientific research and social development work
- Review and analyze the effectiveness of current policies and programmes and their implications upon health service and social development at all levels
- Develop coordination and collaboration among policy makers, researchers, scientists, and institutions with similar objectives working at national and international levels
- Ensure wider dissemination of experiences, best practices and lessons learned among relevant agencies/individuals including community through effective means of communication such as workshops, seminars, conferences and through publication.
- Develop and strengthen capacity of researchers to conduct original and innovative research works, promoting national and international collaboration between individual researchers and institutions
- Assist national disease control programmes by providing technical assistance in operational research, fund raising, programme planning, implementation and expansion of services
- Perform activities and empower poor and vulnerable communities by promoting a rights based approach in health and social development.
- Ensure proper implementation of activities and ensure effectiveness through well established monitoring and evaluation system.
- Support government initiatives aimed at poverty reduction and enhance access to information on health improvement and social development.
